SAABS AND PARTS FOR SALE
We are adding this new section to the club web in recognition that members often have parts or cars they would like to sell locally. There are a number of better traveled buy and sell sites where you can post your items but the club web is intended as a local Bay Area effort. Send your ad and a photo to President Roger. Here are the rules:
- It has to be Saab or Saab related - posting is free
- The SaabStuff needs to be local, locally related, or at least California
- The ad can stay up without an expiration date, but President Roger will delete
ads that seem to be up too long
- President Roger will monitor the ads for appropriateness
- Let's see how this works. If it doesn't work we will delete the page

POSTED 12/1/11 ROGER'S RECYCLED V4 PARTS
Older Saab owners sometimes experience the panic of owning a vehicle that is
over 30 years old and wonder how they will replace routine parts as Saab gets
sold back and forth. Even worse are those high likelihood accident areas like
taillights, grilles, and body parts. A number of us vintage owners with the
space have spare parts or even spare cars. As these things accumulate, we
sometimes face the crisis of needing to shed our collection in the face of a
move or spousal demands. The items below were facing the dumpster and were
rescued to be redistributed to V4 owners in need. This batch also has some
99/900 items too: soccerballs, 96/95 doors and hoods, and more. I'd like to see
them find new homes. contact me:

Classic Saab 900 Convertible 1989 $1200. Painted in Cherry Red with tan
leather interior, this car is sure to turn heads anywhere you drive it! I
bought this car on 2007 and had a lot of fun. Exterior looks great, shiny
and just a few small imperfections and bumpers scratches (Carfax says it has
never been hit). The leathers seats are in good shape- no tearing! AM/FM
Stereo, cruise control and all power options working. The dash has the usual
cracks from sitting in the sun. It starts and runs beautifully, with no
engine or transmission noises whatsoever. Step on the gas, and you'll hear
that euphoric SAAB turbo "burble". Driving this car is so much fun! Simply
delightful... VIN# YS3AT76LXK7011970. Trans: Automatic. Mileage: 142K. The
reason for the low price: It needs to replace the front control arm (a $900
service at Planet Saab). Rogerio 415-2984749

1967 model 96 FOR SALE

Color: Blue Trans: Manual Mileage: 98,266 Price: $3000
VIN: 429100 Professional body work + completely repainted several
months ago, garaged and driven only a handful of miles since.
Excellent daily driver with only a minimum of work on your part.
Probably in need of a tune-up, oil change, etc but it runs fine. Brake
pedal goes to the floor, the fluid may just need to be flushed and
filled. No other known major engine/transmission/drivetrain problems.
98,266 miles shown on the odometer, true mileage unknown (5-digit
odometer). Later model 1.7L engine. Front windshield recently replaced
with new glass: no chips, pits or scratches. Weber 34ICH carburetor
upgrade. I have the chrome trim strips for the outside doors as well
as several other bits and pieces. Sale price takes it all. Asking
price is less than I have invested in the paint & bodywork. Bring a
trailer & cash or bank check and it's yours. More pictures:

The car has an automatic transmission and 124k miles. It has power windows and seats, a cd player, and a new battery. Its been garaged most of its life, so the paint, leather, and dashboard are in good shape. The left front directional lens is broken, and there are some scrape marks on the front bumper (from parking lot incidents) that might be able to be rubbed out. Otherwise, the car looks good, especially with the convertible boot covers in place.
The convertible top is old, has a few holes in it and will need to be replaced (unless its garaged when it rains). There is an electrical problem. When the car is parked over night there is something that slowly discharges the battery. In the morning, theres not enough charge in the new battery to start the car. During normal day use, the car has no problem starting. My temporary fix is to disconnect the battery at night.
Aside from the top and electrical problem, this is a functional car. Its currently registered, and it recently passed the smog check (in March 09). The car is fun to drive, especially with the top down and the turbo engaged!
Asking $950. If interested, please email zabielskis@comcast.net. I'm located in Marin County.
